Is tea more healthy for me than coffee?

Tea provides a more balanced source of sustained energy. Have you ever drank a little too much coffee and had a jittery, scattered and uneasy feeling? You're wide awake, but your lips are moving faster than your mouth can produce words and your heart is racing. That doesn't happen with tea. While tea does provide some caffeine, it also contains tannins. The tannins help slow down the caffeine absorption into the bloodstream. That slower absorption is what gives you a more steady source of energy that stays with you longer.

Can tea promote a healthy heart?

The flavonoids in tea can help reduce the buildup of plaque in the arteries – a serious bonus to those trying to lower their cholesterol. Several studies indicate that people who regularly drink tea have a lower risk of heart attacks than others. Conversely, many patients with heart disease have been advised to stop drinking coffee entirely.

Can tea help you maintain an ideal weight?

The particular catechin antioxidant in green tea that is constantly being lauded for its powerful health effects is called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). Can drinking tea help your body fight cancer?

Of all the beverages you can consume, the majority of researchers agree that green tea is the most superior. Tea contains catechins – a special type of antioxidant that fights all types of cell damage. Because our teas are not highly processed, the catechin content is very high – promoting more healthy benefits per cup. Further, it's been found that tea drinkers have a lower risk of developing prostate, breast, colon and lung cancers. Coffee can't promise all of those benefits.

Can tea improve brain function and enhance the memory?
